Privacy policy for the Evotonomia app
Last updated: May 2026
About this policy
This policy applies only to the Evotonomia mobile app, distributed through Google Play and the App Store. It runs entirely offline and collects no personal data. Use of the evotonomia.be website (in particular the contact form, whose content is routed by email through Resend) is covered by a separate policy: see 'Privacy policy'. The app is designed for a specialised audience: children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), specific learning disorders, language disorders, or supported in special education. It is always used in pairs with a reference adult (parent, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, special educator, special-needs teacher).
Data controller
The Evotonomia app is published on an individual basis by Pierre Guillaume, a private individual (the editor operates neither as a company nor as a non-profit), residing at 148 rue Henri Lecocq, 5000 Namur, Belgium. For any question about this policy, you can write to pierre.guillaume@evotonomia.be.
Intended audience
Evotonomia is a specialised tool for supporting autonomy, intended for children with neurodevelopmental profiles: ADHD, ASD, specific learning disorders, language disorders, or children supported in special education. It is also relevant as a structuring tool for any child who needs stable visual anchors. The app has been designed in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU 2016/679), the Belgian law of 30 July 2018, the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the requirements of Google Play's Designed for Families programme, and section 5.1.4 'Kids' of Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.
No data collection
The editor collects no personal data through the app. Concretely, the app creates no user account, makes no network connection for its functioning, integrates no analytics tool (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.), no advertising SDK, no third-party identity provider, and transmits no information to any server operated by the editor or a partner.
Device permissions
The app requests no sensitive Android or iOS permission: no access to location, contacts, camera, microphone, external storage, SMS, phone, or sensors. Only the resources strictly required for local operation (access to the app's own private storage area) are used, in line with the standard behaviour of Android and iOS.
Local storage
All information used by the app is stored locally, in a SQLite database located within the app's private storage area on the device. This includes child profiles, missions and their steps, rewards, progress tracking, the parent password (hashed with bcrypt, never stored in plain text), the chosen language and all settings. This data never leaves the user's device.
No advertising, no third parties
The app contains no advertising, no tracker, no pixel, and no third-party sharing. No data is used for commercial, advertising, or profiling purposes. The project is not monetised through user data.
Children's privacy
In accordance with EU GDPR-K rules and the United States COPPA, we knowingly collect no personal data from children under 13, nor from any user. Because the app runs fully offline, no information about a child can be transmitted to the editor, a sub-processor, or any third party. Evotonomia meets the requirements of Google Play's Designed for Families programme and Apple's App Store 'Kids' category.
Retention and deletion
Local data is retained as long as the app remains installed on the device. Uninstalling the app immediately and permanently removes all associated data. The parent area (admin mode) also offers export and import functions: the export produces a backup file on the device, and the import restores that data on the same or another device. Both export and import are strictly manual, local, and never go through any server operated by the editor.
Your rights
The GDPR grants you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection regarding your personal data. Because no data is transmitted to the editor, these rights are technically satisfied by the direct control you exercise over the data stored in the app: you can view, edit, export, or delete it at any time from the parent area. For any further question, you can write to the contact address below. You may also file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
Applicable law
This policy is governed by Belgian law. The applicable rules include the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) and the Belgian law of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data.
